Etiquette of Saying Salam

The greeting is considered to be the main part that initiates communication between human beings. There are different types of greetings that are exercised by different communities according to the culture and beliefs. Islam, being a way of life, provides us with a single greeting and salutation which can be used everywhere and upon anyone.

The Islamic greeting is to say “اسلام عليكم ”

English transliteration: As-salaamu ‘Alaykum

It means: May the peace of Allah is upon you.

Salam is declared as the root which can grow love among Muslims.

Since the beginning, Hera Public School offers students modern education in an Islamic environment. Read below to know about what etiquettes we have taught our students -

1.     Always greet another person, either in the same way or in a better way

2.     Pronunciation of Salam should be correctly made

3.     Mean what you say

4.     Say Salam to all the people, either known or unknown

Salam is a Du’a. We pray for the one whom we greet, with peace from Allah SWT. We at Hera Public School teaches students to develop spiritually, mentally, and physically. We follow a methodology that focuses on the holistic development of a child, thus making them a better and responsible citizen.
