How to Score a Perfect-360 in NEET Biology?

NEET is a national level medical entrance exam that is carried out every year for students seeking admission in medical colleges, hence becoming successful medical professionals after the completion of respective medical courses.

The competition in such exams is not about who knows how much, since it is an MCQ based exam, rather it is a race against time.

Keeping time management as the ground rule, let’s understand how you can score well in the exam and some helpful tips to assist you in strengthening your move.

  1. Strategise:

The first and the foremost thing is to justify your plan of action. Initially your focus must be on smart studying over hard. And you can achieve this with rigorous revisions and practicing sample question papers.

However, to make you better understand we have listed down some sub-points that will help you strategize your move:

  • You should have a basic understanding that where the questions are coming from, jot down the important topics, and recurring concepts.

  • Try and predict the most probable questions that could appear by closely analyzing the past 10 year’s papers.

  • You should streamline your revision patterns in a way that at least 10-11 hours in a day is purely dedicated to NEET preparation.

  • After completing a chapter, try and solve all previous year’s question papers on the concerned topics. There are many books out there in the market that offer at least 20 years past question papers which are organised subject and topic wise.

  1. Collection of Books:

Technically speaking, you don’t need tons of fancy books for the NEET preparations! Since the old days the importance of NCERT books have not been stressed enough. In fact, it is the holy book for NEET aspirants.

More than 75% of the question paper comprises questions that are picked from NCERT. Questions can be framed literally from any line of the textbook. Indeed, it is the best way to gain conceptual clarity. After taking up regular practice tests, if you are consistent with a score of 600+, in that case, you can move to other reference books. This will roughly give you an idea of how important NCERT is for NEET preparation.

Pro tip: Don’t forget to study the “summary section” which is provided at the end of every chapter.

  1. Start Prioritising Topics:

With proper strategy and well-equipped books, having basic knowledge of important topics is an important measure.

We have collated a list of chapters for you on the basis of the volume of content and the number of questions recurring in previous years' question papers. So, the most important section has chapters with lesser content, but most important questions while the “low” section has a vast syllabus and comparatively lesser number of questions being asked.

Pro Tip: All chapters must be studied. Do not skip any topic!

  1. Revise and Practice:

Revision and Practice are considered the key to success. Once you are completely through with the entire syllabus, start your revision without wasting any time. The more you practice, the more you understand where you are making mistakes. Abd, accordingly you can correct yourself before the time flies.

Just like any other subject, even Biology is extremely important! If you know someone who is about to give their next medical exam, then prioritize the subject instead of running away from it.
